Hi Debz,
Sorry ngayon lang ako nagbabasa ng details.
regarding vaccines and medical mission, is it going to cost you around $10,000? If that is the magnitude of cost, and depending on the need, I can try hook you up with the Rotary Foundation Matching Grant via my rotary club for the purchase of the needed vaccines/medicines and possible clinic facility donation. Just need the following info before Jan 15, 2009 for me to be able to submit a matching grant proposal and for our club to be able to source out foreign partners to fund the project before the start of the Rotary International Convention this 2009:
1 Paragraph Abstract: Demographics, Population, health condition
2 what are the vaccines needed, Expected number of People who are beneficiaries to the vaccines, how many boxes, how much, and name of supplier.
3 what are the medines needed, expected number of people to treat, how many boxes/bottles of such medicines, how much and name of supplier.
4 things needed like scissors guages etc... how many boxes/pieces how much and name of supplier
5 if thinking of leaving medical supplies like stetoscope, emergency bed, oxygen tank, clinic equipment etc... what are these, how many boxes/pieces, how much and name of supplier
should this interest you, send me the data via email at
catalanph@yahoo.com and get intouch via phone (i seldom get enough time to browse through the net nowadays) so I can discuss the project with my club members soonest as we are now drafting various matching grant requests for implementation between Rotary Year - July 2009 - June 2010

hi iris, thanks for the suggestion. yep, we have scheduled a mass. that is in fact our first activity. just to give you a glimpse: 1st day (firday)-arrival, 5 pm-mass
2nd day (saturday)-morning mass
3rd day (sunday)-morning mass
with regard the priest, meron naman priest from sta cruz who is coming up to say the mass for special events. somebody suggested if we could invite fr john moran (he is already retired, and is now residing in a Columban house somewhere in Road Island). i will talk to ms banal about it, pero kasi when we have met up with father moran august 2007 in manila, sinabi nya na thats his last visit sa pinas.
we were also thinking, na baka pede din makipag coordinate sa other religions (Iglesia, Anglican, etc) for other karubas who are not catholics.
as for the meantime, la pa batch assign sa mass. any suggestion?
good idea about the vaccination, di ko naisip yun. we could probably give Influenza vaccine for all patients (adult/pedia). as for the basic (EPI) pediatric vaccines, they are already given for free in all health centers. pede din tayo magbigay ng vaccines that are not part of the EPI, kya lang they are usually given in several doses, baka magka problema sa pagbigay ng subsequent doses which are usually given a month after. pero vacccines like varicella, tetanus, typhoid-pede natin bigay.
we also have alloted time for sports-although we already have an idea in mind, we still love to hear from you as to how we will carry this out.
thanks for the suggestions
