GRAND HOMECOMING (DRAFT as of April 27, 2008)

Please let us know what you think of these initial plans we have formulated during our first meeting at treehouse last april 26.

This is just a rough draft, your opinions are very much appreciated. Assigning responsibilities is our way of empowering each batch. And syempre to make things easier for us. Yun nilagay na names, example lang yan, lahat tayo magde decide kung sino appoint natin as contact persons and batch in charge. Most welcome din if you volunteer.

-ensures adequate water & electric supply, presence of comfort rooms

FINANCE committee
-ate JOIE will open BDO account which will serve as the temporary bank account where payments can be made
-contribution: 1000 per head
-an additional contribution will be asked if the group thinks funds are insufficient
-donations accepted

-updates the group as to how much is already being deposited
-coordinates with other committees re possible expenses
-solicites funds



TRANSPORTATION committee
Tasks
-transacts with owners of mini buses from sta cruz
-coordinates and gives the finance committee the estimated transportation expenses
-coordinates with the mines re possible transportation the mines can provide, road accessibility


LOGISTICS committee
Tasks
-in charge of PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENT
-chairs, tables for the programs, medical mission
-prepares logistics for med mission, program, community service
-SOUND SYSTEM



FOOD committee
Tasks
-Livestock to be raised (pigs, chickens)
-from the contributions, money will be given to Ms Banal who will decide on who are going to be the caretakers
-compensations will be given to the caretakers, amount of which will be decided on by the finance committee who in turn will present to the organizing committee for final approval
-decides/appoints/coordinates persons in charge of cooking (preferably somebody from acoje)

8 am -12 noon: Medical Mission simultaneous with Community Service
Community service: painting of school, etc

2 pm to sawa : sportsfest

8 pm : per batch bonding


Day 3:
8 am –breakfast

3 pm to sawa : culminating / grand program
-tribute to teachers, token should be given

what if gumamit na ang tau ng private na organizer para dito? ksi based on my experience gumamit ako noong last 2008 Christmas party and Company Outing namin... 500 employees kami and ang budget is 1300/pax.
sa tingin ko lang ha, 1000/per head para sa 3 days event? :roll: ,,, hmmm medyo bitin yata yan... :roll: then yung trabaho pa.. baka d na makapag enjoy ang iba.

di naman natin kelangan ipasa lahat mga task. ung mga matrabaho un na lang ipasa natin sa organizer gaya ng food, program at sports. ung the rest tayo tayo na lang d b?

time is ticking mga karrubas.

suggestion lang po. :lol:

salamat po sa suggestion. we will consider it as we brainstorm. oo nga sounds bitin ang 1000 for 3 days, pero kasi we have considered din yun mga di masyadong makaka afford financially but would really like to attend. iniisip tuloy namin to lower it sa 500 :? kasi we are thinking marami naman kind hearted to donate, like you :wink: so yun remaining amount na kukulangin kunin na lang sa donations.

yun sa private organizer, sige po, i will inform the rest of the group. we were thinking kasi na yun preparation process is already a part of the reunion proper kasi through it, we will get know each other again, reminisce the past,m etc :roll:

with regard the task, yes, we will no longer assign to each of the batch, medyo mahihirapan sila sa coordination. the organizing batch will take care of the major works. pero can we ask each batch to prepare one presentation for the program? dance, song, whatever, para lahat tlaga involved? what do you think? :)

Kailangann malaman natin muna ang side ng new management bago tau gumawa ng plan.... meron na ba lumapit sa kanila para sa event na ito? ksi malaki masyado ito, we are not talking per batch dito.. tipong kanya kanya style.we have to make plan from top to bottom ksi Ito na ang pinakamalaking Event ng Acoje na malamang abutan pa natin.. baka sa 100 years tatlo na paa natin o yung iba eh umunat na ha ha ha. :lol:

cyempre ma iinvite pa natin si mayor marty ( Kapatid ni doctor marty) at mga konsehales nya.. mga promenent figure ng acoje na i hope makakatulong at makakarating sa occasion.. andyan si Doctor pareja, si Engr. Immanuel Mas, si Engineer Amistoso, si Engineer Minas. i hope they can help us sa management para maging succesfull ang mga bagay na ito. kung gusto nu let us go to Sta. cruz para puntahan natin sila... may communication pa rin sila ng papang ko.



malay natin. baka Tsibug at mga presentation na lang ang problemahin natin db? :roll:

wen mga manong. we already made a letter sa acoje management, papadala namin once me umuwi. the letters were addressed to engr frias-resident manager, certain mr somintac-chief geologist, mr agsaoay-president acoje residents assoc. purpose of which to inform them of our plans-para they may help us in whatever ways

and yep, we will be informing the whos who dati sa acoje-i already have communication with drs pareja. leo said his dad engr mas will be helping us out. thank you for mentioning mga other personas.

and yes, sobrang timing kasi election by 2010, we can ask help from politicians.

we are planning to go to acoje before this year ends so as to personally coordinate with people na nandun pa kasi we think na they are in the best position to advise us tungkol sa mga kakailanganin. siguro by now mga manong, what we can do is to send them letters informing them of the reunion, then by mid 2009 we will personally talk to them. what do you think?

u mention about medical mission,di ba?maybe we can negotiate with the hospital staff kung anong
most immediate need ng mga taga acoje so far
para atleast we may anticipate it....pti ninong Dr.pareja para ma advise tau kung anong dalhing mga gamot at instruments ng mga medical teams
natin.......mag iipon nko ng martilyo,lagare,pako
etc....hehheheh....jok jok po....seriously,para
mkarami tau ng matutulongan if resources are available.......
Karrubas,nkita q un lugar ng acoje nw thru ds forum,after two years,dapat semento na un ah..
may phobia kc ako sa pantranco..madalas umatras.hehehehe.GODSPEED.

hi ate diana :D wow, i cant believe you are here, feeling ko tuloy nasa acoje pa tayo. i saw you in the pics, di ka pa din nagbabago. how many kids do you already have? and you are a Villar? how are you now related to manny villar? :wink:

point well taken regarding the med mission. you are right, we will never know what the community needs medically unless we coordinate with the people in the place. pero i dont think the hosptial is still functional because sabi sa mga posts dito ginawa ng different offices yun. nevertheless we will have communication with the health workers dun.
a surgical procedure that we can do is circumcision. the rest would be medical in nature. unless may manganganak, then its purely for dr banglot (she is an Ob-Gyne in training). I will take care of the pediatric needs. i guess its more of prophylactic, i dont think maraming illnesses dun, we can give multivitamins for pediatric patients.

im a little confident with the med mission. we just have to raise funds siguro for all the medicines. we have a complete medical staff naman.

we do need your suggestions as to what kind of community service is needed.
and another thing which needs attention is the program proper, i am already requesting batch 87 to take the responsibility. since this part of the reunion is like the grand finale, its where we should give our best shot.

hi Dra Azan-Red, if I may suggest, possible ba vaccination na ibigay sa mga Acojenians? Adult and children, it doesn't matter.. i think bihira na maabot sa Acoje much needed vaccines para iwas sakit lalo sa pedia.
And maybe we can add sa program proper yung mass? It would be better if may batch na mag sponsor ng misa, lagi naman tayo may mass pag may activity sa Acoje e, maybe before or after the main event? By the way, may pari pa ba ang Acoje? Or by invitation?
I'll visit this site again, more on the med mission... and the program proper..

hi iris, thanks for the suggestion. yep, we have scheduled a mass. that is in fact our first activity. just to give you a glimpse: 1st day (firday)-arrival, 5 pm-mass
2nd day (saturday)-morning mass
3rd day (sunday)-morning mass

with regard the priest, meron naman priest from sta cruz who is coming up to say the mass for special events. somebody suggested if we could invite fr john moran (he is already retired, and is now residing in a Columban house somewhere in Road Island). i will talk to ms banal about it, pero kasi when we have met up with father moran august 2007 in manila, sinabi nya na thats his last visit sa pinas.

we were also thinking, na baka pede din makipag coordinate sa other religions (Iglesia, Anglican, etc) for other karubas who are not catholics.

as for the meantime, la pa batch assign sa mass. any suggestion? :wink:

good idea about the vaccination, di ko naisip yun. we could probably give Influenza vaccine for all patients (adult/pedia). as for the basic (EPI) pediatric vaccines, they are already given for free in all health centers. pede din tayo magbigay ng vaccines that are not part of the EPI, kya lang they are usually given in several doses, baka magka problema sa pagbigay ng subsequent doses which are usually given a month after. pero vacccines like varicella, tetanus, typhoid-pede natin bigay.

we also have alloted time for sports-although we already have an idea in mind, we still love to hear from you as to how we will carry this out.

Meron na po ata steady priest ang anglican. Si Fr. Josephine Dapig.

By the way tungkol po sa mga vaccines ok po yan esp sa mga adult... Kasi kada taon meron rin nagpupunta dito na mga rural health unit ng Bayto. nag conduct po sila last April. Talagang kailangan po dito ng Medical Mission. Wala pa po kasi medical mission na nangyayari dito sa Acoje kasi puro po Dental Mission lang po nangyayari dito. Circumcision ok na ok po un.
Katatapos nga lang po ng isang napakalakas ng bagyo na dumaan dito sa zambales. Daming mga puno ang natumba, mga bahay na nawalan ng bubong at natumba rin.
Tree planting Ok rin po yan
Sports Fest..
Relief Goods ? (mga damit na di na nagagamit etc he he he)
Donations (school supplies malapit na ang pasukan that time..)

Ate Debz, kung nanjan lang ako sa pinas siguro I'll have the courage to say na batch ko nalang ang bahala sa mass, hehe . Pero I think di na active ang batch ko lately (92) dito sa forum... :cry: Lately lang kasi ako nakapag register dito. Ang mga posting ata nila last yr pa. Pero my batch still has a very good communication pa din so just in case, pwede siguro. Ask ko iba ko kabatch thru email and text msgs.

Yup, I agree na yung mga shots na kelangan ng follow up wag nalang muna siguro. MAbibitin lang. Priority nalang natin yung mga one time shots lang, (at least once a yr like flu shot) or yung at least mag last for few yrs like pneumocox vac. MAy idea ka ba how much magagastos dun (vaccine) Dra? Kasi ang alam ko pag maramihan ang kuha sa pharmaceutical company, mas makakamura.. (paging our karrubas na may kakilala na med reps, or sa mga karrubas na mismong med reps) May budget committee ba tayo?

Yun muna sana ma-build up para at least may idea tayo roughly how much magagastos sa event, Baka kulangin yung proposal na amount... or mag alangan yung iba, for financial reasons.

Sa sports po, pag usapan muna ano ano sports ang isasama natin. Team sports ba or individual or mixed. Ok ba na instead of making your own team e per batch nalang ang labanan? (Sa team sports) Hehe. Di yata ok sa iba yun..Or mas maganda halo halo?

Makaawid ak kuma ngem wen nu haan, mangteddak to lattan ti kontribusyon kon a, syak to latta gumatang ti inumin yo dita. (ehehe.tama ba?) ... :wink:

The plan about the medical mission will really be helpful. Pero another thing we can probably do is to give something to the school, tulad ng books or mga instructional materials na pwedeng gamitin ng mga students. We all benefited from the quality education ng Acoje , if we give something back to the school, how simple it may be for sure mapakikinabangan ng mga bata.

thank you for the suggestion. so the med mission is already approved by everybody (at least for those who are always postng). regarding community service, we will have to ask from the teachers what are needed in school, thats going to be like giving donations. i would like to ask all the karubas, what other community service do you like us to have? :D

magandang umaga po. Maganda yung suggestion na tumulog sa school. Kasi kung ikukumpara ang acoje elementary at high school sa mga private schools di na naman tayo nahuhuli noon. Di ba ang ABS CBN may adopt a school program , siguro parang ganung concept ba, magbigay tayo ng mga books na mas magaganda, para naman di sila mahuli.matutulungan din natin mga teachers kasi dagdag reference yun di po ba? cguro matutulungan tayo ng mga karruba natin na teachers din..i heard may mga karruba tayo na nagtuturo pa sa mga international school...
